Dr. Mavis Ermakov is an advocate for health and wellness, keen on promoting health literacy and access to healthcare for all. I have been trained as a Registered Dietitian, with multidisciplinary training as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. In conjunction with more than thirty years of experience in healthcare in various settings, she has essential diabetes skills to adapt care and nutrition intervention that is culturally sensitive to meet a wide variety of health needs from infancy to senior care. She has a passion for taking care of patients with diabetes mellitus.

Why would someone want to work with me? What makes me different? I believe that each client is a person not what ails them at the time they are seeking help. Clients I treat as individuals and there is not one protocol or approach for each person. I usually see clients who have already tried mainstream medical care and are just not finding the relief they sought. They know there is more work to do however, they are possibly not being heard by their current healthcare providers or not at their optimal state of health that they know they can feel or once felt.

I am dietitian with a passion to mend your relationship with food. I desire to help my clients gain a better understanding of nutrition while gaining trust in food and their bodies through nutrition therapy. I have a Masters of Science at Columbia University in Diabetes Education and Management and offer a non-diet, weight inclusive approach to this population. My professional specialty includes assisting those with eating disorders, history of chronic dieting or bariatric surgery, PCOS, diabetes and pre-diabetes. Hello! I'm an integrative nutritionist, herbalist, and home chef who helps women understand what their symptoms are telling them and how to use food, herbs, and life habits to come back into balance.
