In addition, I am on the faculty of George Mason University, Department of Global and Community Health, Fairfax, Virginia. I directed the landmark study, Diet and Health: Implications for Reducing Chronic Disease Risk, while at the National Academy of Sciences along with other publications significantly affecting public policy. I've held executive positions in science/health policy in the food industry and participated in USDA's food labeling initiative.
I am a member of the American Dietetic Association, American Society of Nutrition, and have served as the past Chair of the Nutrition Division of the Institute of Food Technologists and presently serve as the President of the Washington Society for the Study of Eating Disorders and Obesity.
