As the first massage therapist to practice in a hospital, most of my clients are medically referred. Many have had chronic disabling pain and dysfunction issues. My training in Neuromuscular Therapy, CranioSacral Therapy and movement re-education based on the teachings of Moshe Feldenkrais as well as 33 years of clinical experience, give me a somewhat unique approach to treating complex musculoskeletal pain problems. My work has been reported in the Boston Globe. I am also the senior massage therapist at the Osher Clinic of the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Brookline. My private practice is in Dedham Mass.

Our Fascial system is a main source of pain & dysfunction & yet little is known about it in the medical community. Imaging will not disclose areas of dysfunction due to the fluid nature of fascia, leading all to often to the diagnosis of “ there is nothing wrong; inconclusive results” You are not crazy & your pain is real. The John F Barnes Myofascial Release system ( JFBMFR) works with the balance & texture of the body. Understanding where the pain is & then balancing the incongruities that cause the twists within the system. It is a weblike pattern that can cause pain in different areas than where the injury is or thought to be.

CranioSacral Therapy Massage Therapists
Cranio-sacral therapy involves the practitioner using his or her hands to examine the patient's cranium--paying attention to the pulsing fluid that surrounds the brain, spinal cord, and sacrum. This pulsing is called the cranial rhythm. An abnormal rhythm signals tension and cranial pressure. In cranial-sacral therapy, the physician gently manipulates tissue to restore normal rhythm while the patient concentrates on breathing and releasing tension.
